      and banned Catholic youth organisations.
    • Around 400 Catholic priests were arrested for speaking out against Nazi policy. They were imprisoned in the Priests’
      Block at Dachau concentration camp.
    • In 1937, the pope spoke out against the Nazis in his statement known as ‘With Burning Anxiety’. This was read in all
      Catholic Churches in the country.
