Ministerial questions and accountability

• Ministerial questions Secretary of State and ministers from government departments that are required to answer questions from opposition MPs in the shadow cabinet and from backbencher on issues relating to the the department
• PMWS- held every week which the PM is questioned by leader of opposition and back neck mp
• urgent question- questions asked by an MP and deemed by speaker to be of pressing public interest and which needs to be discussed immediately
• Written question- MPs and peers can ask government ministers questions these are often used to gather a more detailed response
