1. Germany was to be administered under joint Allied control and was divided into four zones of occupation, as was Berlin
2. Germany was to be demilitarised, de-Nazified and democratised
3. Elections were to be held, starting at a local government level, to give Germany the 'chance to rebuild its life on a democratic and peaceful basis
4. Poland gained much former German land; the Oder-Neisse line formed the border between Poland and the Soviet zone
5. Germans in Poland, Hungary and Czechoslovakia were repatriated to Germany
6. The economy was to be run as one unit, and each occupying force was to take reparations from their zone of occupation
7. As the Soviet zone had fewer resources, they were allowed an additional 25% of reparations from the British and American zones
