    • Passive is to stop trying to keep them alive (e.g. to remove life support
    • Voluntary- where some asked to be euthanised and needs your assistance
    • Non-voluntary- where someone cannot ask to die but it is in their best interest (e.g. someone that is brain dead or in a come)

    • It allows a person to die a gentle pain-free death
    • The patient dies with dignity
    • It relieves the burden on the family and society in general
    • Euthanasia can save medical costs
    • It might be the wish of the person dying
  • Arguments AGAINST Euthanasia
    • Sanctity of life
    • Euthanasia is murder ("Thou shall not kill.")
    • Switching off machine of brain-dead not murder (God has already taken this life)
    • Genesis God gives life
    • We have a soul and are made in the image of God
    • Hospices provide care for those who are dying and they do so with dignity- there is no need for euthanasia
