Sunni Islam - Six Articles of Faith

• Belief in Allah:

  • Tawhid - belief in oneness of God
  • "He is Allah, the One and Only."
• Malaikah:

  • Deliver revelations to prophets
  • Recieve souls at death
  • Do not have free will like humans - obey God's commands
• Holy Books:

  • Qu'ran is final book
  • Allah has revealed his word to humans to teach them how to live their lives
• Risalah:

  • God has spoken through prophets
  • Prophet Muhammad is greatest prophet and was Seal of Prophets - brought final message from God
• Akhirah:

  • Muslims believe there will be day when all Muslims are judged
• Al-Qadr:

  • Predestination
  • God is responsible for everything - everything that will happen is written down
  • Qadr - everything is ordered by Allah, nothing is random
  • Humans have freewill but everything is still predestined
