• The liberal view of the economy is closely linked with Adam Smith's 'Wealth of Nations' which promoted private enterprise.
• Liberals believe in laissez-faire economics
• Liberals believe that Capitalism is economic liberalism - market based economy which promotes property rights, cooperation and competition in the name of progress
