Items for Worship

• The Tefilin is a string of prayer (Shema) that is wrapped around the head and neck for the 3 prayers a day.
• The Tallith is a 4 cornered garment with 613 tallits to represent the Mitzvot. It is used for prayer and is also called a prayer shawl
• A Kippah is a cap to cover the head and is worn by Jewish men. It is worn to show respect to God.
• The Mezuzah is a small box containing the Shema and is placed on the doorpost

  
• The Seder plate contains six items which are eaten during Passover. They include bitter herbs, salt water, roasted lamb bone, egg, charoset and matzo bread.
