  • Die cutting
    uses a wooden block with mounted steel knives. The die is pressed against the card and the steel cuts into the card. Sharp blades will cut through the paper/card whereas rounded blunt blades will crease the paper/card for folding. This process is used for making card nets.
  • UV varnshing
    A shiny liquid is applied to the card and cured when exposed to UV light and this produces a high gloss fnish on card
  • Embossing
    A process that creates a raised pattern on card which adds texture and depth to a product making it more appealing
  • Off-set lithography
    • aluminium sheets are produced so the image to be printed stands out slightly - four sheets are required for full colour printing - cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK)
    • the printing cylinder rotates it transfers the ink onto the blanket cylinder
    • the blanket cylinder rotates to press the ink onto the paper or card whilst also pulling the paper through the press with aid of the impression cylinder
