  Along with the patients weight we need to assess fat and muscle condition of our patients.

• When to intervene with anorexia?

  1-2 days

  • Monitor closely, create encouraged feeding plant.

  2-4 days

  • Intervention required. Unless recovery imminent consider feeding tube during scheduled procedures.

  >5 days

  • Intervention essential.

  In cat intervention is essential and starts at 3-4 days due to the risk of hepatic lipidosis.
