Deciding on a research question

• Co variables - the two variables that are measured in a correlational study.
• Extraneous variables - extra variable that is not the IV but affects the DV.
• Confounding variable - not being measured or manipulated by the researcher.
• Operationalisation - defining variable so they can be easily manipulated or measured.
• Extraneous variables - order effects to stop getting bored could be the order the questions are asked to counter balance ABBA. participant variables gender IQ age etc. have a mix of participants and use a matched pairs experiment. situational variables time temp environment standardise procedures. researcher effects standardise and do a double blind to overcome bias in data interpretation use a double blind trial.
