• Regular rhythm:

  • Makes it sound like natural speech - done through caesure and enjambment
  • Autobiographical/first person - sounds personal - gives reader insight into inner thoughts of speaker
• • Written in iambic pentameter - very close to rhythm of speaking voice and is suitable for personal poem
