  • Nutrition

  • Essential Nutrients
    Compounds that the body can’t make or can’t make in sufficient quantity. These nutrients must come from food, and they are vital for disease prevention, growth, and good health
  • Vitamins
    are organic chemical compounds which the body requires to continue to renew and repair itself.
  • A balanced diet has the following components:
    Protein, Carbohydrates, Fats, Vitamins, Minerals
  • Proteins
    are essential for growth and repair of the body. While doing intense workouts, it is essential to take adequate amounts of protein as the body requires it for muscle development. Fish, Egg, Beans, Nuts
  • Carbohydrates
    Though much maligned in the fitness community, carbohydrates are essential for our body as they provide energy that fuels all our body functions.
  • Sugars
    These are refined carbohydrates that are found in bread, sweets, sugar, etc
  • Starches
    These are carbohydrates that are unrefined and more fulfilling than simple sugars.
  • Fats
    is synonymous with the body type and is another group of food that creates fear in fitness conscious people
  • Vitamin A
    This is also called retinol and is essential for assisting the immune system to fight against infections. It also helps in maintaining night vision and keeping skin healthy. Some good sources are: cheese, eggs, fish, sweet potatoes and carrots.
  • Vitamin B
    This is not a single type, but a whole range collectively known as B Vitamins. The B vitamins include Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, and Vitamin B12
  • Vitamin C
    It is also known as ascorbic acid. It helps to protect the cells of the body, helps in healing and also boosts our immune system. It is essential for healthy tissues and organs. Foods rich include citrus fruits, chili peppers, green leafy vegetables, broccoli, papaya, strawberries, etc.
  • Vitamin D
    This is very important for synthesis of phosphate and calcium in the body. One of the sources is sunlight. Some good food sources are eggs, fish, such as salmon, mackerel, and sardines
  • Vitamin E
    This vitamin is the antioxidant for our cells. It protects the cell membrane and helps in having a strong immune system, great looking skin and eyes. Some of the best sources are nuts, seeds, wheat germ, etc.
  • Vitamin K
    it helps in clotting of blood. It is also required for healthy bones. Some rich source are foods like green leafy vegetables, some vegetable oil sand cereals
