• Meosis occurs in the gonads (sex organs)
• In males, meosis occurs in the germ cells that produce sperm
• In females, meosis happens in the germ cells that produce eggs.
• Meosis involves rearranging of alleles between chromosome pairs, creating daughter cells that are genetically unique
• Meosis has four daughter cells
• The daughter cells produced from meosis have half the number of chromosomes of the parents (haploid n)
• Meosis has 8 stages with 2 rounds
