• DNA Transcription

  • Initiation - RNA polymerase binds to a region of a gene called promoter, this signals the DNA to unwind which makes the enzymes ready to make a strand of mRNA.
  • Elongation - Addition of nucleotides/complementary bases to the mRNA strand
  • Termination - occurs when RNA polymerase crosses a stop sequence (UAA, UAG, UGA). The mRNA is complete and detached itself from the DNA.
