• DNA Translation

  • Initiation - The small subunit binds to a site upstream of the start of the mRNA. Then, it scans the mRNA in the 5' - 3' direction until it scans a start codon (AUG), The large subunit attached the initiator tRNA which carries methionine
  • Elongation - tRNA carries the amino acids arrives at the a site, then the preceding amino acid covalently linked to the incoming amino acid. The initiator tRNA moves to the e site and the recent moves to the p site. The process continuous until it creates a chain
  • Termination - Translation ends until it reaches the stop codon (UAA, UAG, UGA).
• Proteins release factor - At the point of the stop codon, they go at the A site signaling the polypeptide chain top be released from the ribosome.
