  • Its a negatively or positively charged particle formed when an atom gains or loses electron(s) to become stable.
  • RULES FOR ARRANGING ELECTRONS IN THE ENERGY LEVELS:
    Rule 1: The 1st shell can hold a maximum of 2 electrons
    Rule 2: The 2nd, 3rd & 4th shells can EACH hold a maximum of 8 electrons.
    Rule 3: ONLY start arranging in the NEXT shell if the previous shell is fully filled.
    Rule 4: Always start from 1st shell then the 2nd!
