    register in the Radiology Area
  • first step for a patient that is NEW to a hospital
    register in the HIS
  • exam is ordered at RIS upon arrival at the radiology registration desk, as well as for exam accession number assigning and printing of requisition
  • second step
    exam ordered in the RIS upon registration at the radiology registration desk. exam accession number is given and a requisition is printed
  • third step
    technologist receives information from clerk and calls the patient in the waiting area for the exam
  • fourth step
    patient is escorted into the modality room
  • fifth step
    examination is performed by a technologist
  • sixth step
    examination is completed
  • seventh step
    clerk pulls out old films (in the absence of the clerk, the RT does it)
  • eighth step
    clerk prepares all necessary papers and films for radiologist (in the absence of the clerk, the RT does it)
  • ninth step
    films are hanged for radiologist's review
  • tenth step
    radiologist reviews films (images), check examination record and dictates reports

    transcriptionist types the draft report from the dictation. (in their absence, the RT does it)
