  • ETHICAL ISSUE 1
    • Right to withdraw can be an issue with interviews as respondents may feel pressure to complete an interview they have started - may feel guilty about the time and cost that has gone into the interview and continue with the process even though they don’t want to.
  • ETHICAL ISSUE 2
    • Sensitivity is also an issue; interviewers need to be careful when dealing with sensitive topics to avoid upsetting participants (confidentiality must be assured - not be referred to by their name ensuring confidentiality, but “Participant A“ or “Participant 24”) - interviewers must be specially trained to deal with participants that get upset.
