   Abs to parietal cells (produce HCl an intrinsic factor) and intrinsic factor (necessary for the absorption of Vit. B12 [Cobalamin])

   Development of Pernicious anaemia
• Autoimmune gastritis is localised to the body and the fundus
• Association/Complications of Autoimmune Gastritis:

  ▪ Achlorhydria with Hypergastrinaemia

  ▪ Vit. B12 deficiency → Macrocytic anaemia

  ▪ ↑ Risk for gastric Adeno-Ca
• H. Pylori associated Gastritis:

   Causes: H. pylori (fecal-oral/oral-oral route)
• H. Pylori associated Gastritis:Localisation: Antrum and pylorus
• Complications/Associations H. Pylori associated Gastritis: Gastric and duodenal peptic ulcers, gastric Adeno - Carcinoma and Lymphoma (MALT-type)
