  • What is a Matter?
     
    • Matter is the most common ingredients of the Earth
    • Matter includes things we can see and touch (water, earth, and trees) as well as we cannot (air).
    • Matter is anything that occupy space and mass
  • What is CHEMISTRY
     
    • Chemistry is the study of matter and the changes it undergoes.
    • MATTER is the HEART and SOUL of chemistry
  • Which is NOT matter?
     
    • ENERGY is not a matter. (Heat, Light and sound)
    • Energy enable us to do work. It drives us to perform our jobs
     
  • So what is the source of energy?
     
    • It comes from the food we eat, drink and vitamins we take.
    • SOUND is not a matter.
    • We are able to hear sounds. But we cannot touch and see them.
    • We cannot carry them but, we can carry some things that produce sounds like radio and cassette. These things are matter but sound is not.
    • Light produced is not a matter
    • Lightning, Lighted bulbs twinkling stars, The sun and the moon give us light. These are examples of matter, But the light produced us not.
    • Because we can see it but we cannot touch it.
