    Both Spain and France wanted England as there ally
    France wanted England support, as the Spanish territory surrounded France, England was the closet country near the north of France. Having England on there side meant there could fight a war on two front
    Spanish wanted England's navy. Spain controlled the Netherlands, to get there the Spanish have to sail through the English channel. The English navy may attack the Spanish ships
