  • Reliability
    The consistency of a measure
  • Internal reliability
    The consistency of the measure within itself
  • External reliability
    Consistency of a procedure on a different occassion
  • Inter-observer reliability
    2 or more observers watch the same situation. If reliable, then the records should match.
  • Test-retest procedure
    Two tests of the same type given to the same pps should show similar results (e.g. questionnaire)
  • Split-half procedure
    Divide pps score in half. If reliable, scores on both halves should correlate.
  • Equivalent forms
    Test done twice( with same pps). If the results correlate then it is reliable (often used in self-reports)
