• Macbeth is told that Macduff has fled for England

  Macbeth orders the murder of Macduff and his whole family
• Lady Macduff

  Advised to flee her castle with her children but refuses, saying that she has done nothing wrong
• Murderers come to Macduff's castle and brutally murder his wife and children
• In England, Malcolm tests Macduff's loyalty

  1. Macduff's responses satisfy Malcolm

  2. Macduff is told about the murder of his family

  3. Macduff vows revenge
