  • What is the definition of CPR?
    The definition of CPR is cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Explain the meaning of the CPR.
    CPR is an emergency aid which involves a combination of chest compressions and breathing into the mouth of the victim. CPR will also restore the heartbeat and breathing of the victim.
  • Situations/ Reaction of a human being that require CPR
    1. If an individual is not breathing
    2. If an individual does not respond to stimulus.
    3. If an individual has no heartbeat or pulse
  • Situations of individuals needing CPR :
    1. Drowning
    2. Heart attack
    3. Electric shock
  • Importance of CPR
    (i) Importance of chest compressions : 
    Chest compressions will produce artificial blood circulation .
    This step can save an individual from having a heart attack.
  • Importance of CPR
    (ii) Importance of mouth- to- mouth resuscitation: 
    Mouth to mouth resuscitation enables the victim to receive oxygenated air into the individual lungs. 
    Oxygen will reach the brain and the whole body which means brain damage can be avoided.
  • What happens if an individual does not receive oxygenated air to the brain and the whole body?
    Brain damage could happen if oxygen does not reach the brain within a certain period of time.
