• Homologous series - a group of compounds that have the same functional group and the same general formula
• Viscosity - The resistance of a fluid to flow. The more viscous an object is, the more difficult it is to move it.
• Functional group - A group of atoms that determines the properties of a compound. React in a similar way.
• Crude oil - a mixture of hydrocarbons that is formed from the remains of ancient marine organisms
