  • mitosis has three stages: stage 1 - the cell grows, stage 2 - the nucleus divides, stage 3 - two identical daughter cells are produced

  • DNA replication -> the nuclear membrane breaks down and chromosomes line up at the centre of the cell, chromosomes are pulled to either end and the cell begins to divide, producing two genetically identical daughter cells
