  • Main pancreatic duct travels along length of organ. Combines with bile duxt to form common bile duct. Forms hepatopancreatic ampulla (of vater). Opens to minor duodenal papilla
  • Accessory pancreatic duct opens to minor duodenal papilla
  • Spleen is an ovoid purplish mass about the size of a fist. Largest lymphatic organ, site of lymphocyte proliferation and immune surveillance. Associated with ribs 9-11. Most vulnerable abdominal organ.
  • Prenatal = hematopoeitic. Postnatal = identify, remove and destroy expended rbcs and platelets. Hilum is entry point
