Main pancreatic duct travels along length of organ. Combines with bile duxt to form common bile duct. Forms hepatopancreatic ampulla (of vater). Opens to minor duodenal papilla

Spleen is an ovoid purplish mass about the size of a fist. Largest lymphatic organ, site of lymphocyte proliferation and immune surveillance. Associated with ribs 9-11. Most vulnerable abdominal organ.
Prenatal = hematopoeitic. Postnatal = identify, remove and destroy expended rbcs and platelets. Hilum is entry point
