• DNA is a polymer of nucleotides, which are made up of a phosphate group, a pentose sugar and a nitrogenous base
• alleles is an alternate form of a gene
• chromosome is the structure made of a protein and nuclei acids that carry genetic information
• homozygous is 2 pairs of similar chromosomes
• heterozygous is when an individual has two different alleles for a particular gene
