Cards (2)

  • describe the structure of the chloroplast?
    • small flattened organelles between 2-10 micrometres: they absorb light to carry out photosynthesis to make glucose for respiration.
    • double membrane: outer membrane is permeable to small molecules and ions but not to large proteins. inner membrane regulates passage of large substances.
  • what is the function of stroma?

Gel like fluid containing enzymes, starch granules, proteins and chloroplast DNA and ribosomes. Starch granules are used to store the products of photosynthesis.
