HPA (E1): The Language of Anatomy

• Anatomical position - A standard reference position in the study of anatomy
• Anatomical position - The subject stands erect, facing forward, arms are straight and along the sides of the body with palms facing forward, and legs are straight with feet apart, forward and flat on the floor

• Trunk - Body part that consists of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, and back
• Chest - Body part found between the neck and abdomen anteriorly
• Abdomen - body part found between the chest and pelvis anteriorly
• Back

  • Posterior portion of the trunk that is between the neck and the buttocks
