  • chronic pyelonephritis - Tubular atrophy + thyroidisation
    • intraluminal casts with Tamm Horsfall protein
  • chronic tubulointerstitial nephritis due to Vesicoureteral Reflux (VUR)
    • Hall mark lesion: U-shaped Cortico-medullary scar overlying blunted calyx
  • ** VUR and obstructive uropathy will lead to hydronephrosis & hydroureter
    • hydronephrosis - distension of renal calyces and pelvis
    • hydroureter - dilation of ureter
