  Used when writing very large or very small numbers.
• HOW TO WRITE SCIENTIFIC NOTATION?

  First, divide the number to a certain power of 10 such that the quotient is a number between 1 and 10

  Secondly, write the power of 10 as a multiplier afterward

  EXAMPLE:

  1. 720,600,000 ----> 7.206 * 10^8
  2. 0.0000560 -----> 5.60 * 10^-5
