Cave, Arch and Stack

• Formation of cave, arch and stack:

  1. Firstly, headlands has vertical and horizontal cracks, which are lines of weakness , so when attacked by abrasion and hydraulic power, eventually a cave will form.
  2. Secondly, overtime the headland will be attacked form both sides, so the cave will become an arch.
  3. Thirdly, due to erosion and weathering, the arch will collapse.
  4. Finally, a stack is left remaining.
