Cultural deprivation

• Different ethnic groups have education at different levels of importance. Higher achieving ethnic groups see education as important and encourage the children to work hard, but other ethnic groups might not show the same commitment to education. This can affect the success of the children within the education system. For some students English might not be their first language or they may also know multiple different languages which can lead to confusion when English is introduced to them.
