    Arjowiggins (a Scottish paper company) had to close one of its factories. It had factories in Scotland (HQ), Spain (Europe), China (Cheap wages) and Ivy Bridge
  • What lead to Arjo needing to close one of its factories?

    email/technology advancements meant less people used paper to send letters. This caused 100 people to lose their jobs.
  • Ivy Bridge is seen as a wealthy area, this can be seen through its education. Class sizes are generally smaller (19 students compared to 20) that typically receive a higher GCSE grade compared to the national average (B instead of C)
  • However, due to the lack of competition for schools, teachers are usually paid a lower wage. Although, poverty is still less common as only 7.4% are eligible for free school meals compared to the N.A of 13.4%
