• I saw 'Metamorphosis' live, in the Quays small-scale proscenium arch theatre at the Lowry on the 15th of November 2023.
• The play was created by Frantic Assembly, it was a non-naturalistic performance which was character-based and incorporated physical storytelling.
• The play is about Gregor Samsa, a young man who transforms into an insect as a result of the stress/pressure put on him by his family because of the financial crisis after World War Two.
• We see the impact of his transformation on his family who view him as a grotesque monster after Gregor transforms and on Gregor himself simultaneously.
• The play is set in the late 1950’s/early 1960’s.
