In naturalistic, behaviour is observed in the participants normal environment. In controlled, behaviour is observed in an artificial environment, the researcher will manipulate certain aspects of the observation.
What is the difference between a covert and overt observational technique?
Overt is where the participants are aware that they are being observed. Covert is where the participants are not aware they are being observed
What is the difference between a participant and non-participant observational technique?
In participant the observer is part of the group being observed. In non-participant, the observer is not part of the group being observed
