  • DNA unzips / weak hydrogen bonds break into two separate strands

• What happens during the second stage of transcription?

  • Free floating RNA nucleotides from nucleoplasm
  • Join to their complementary DNA base triplets or A-U and G-C
  • This produces mRNA
