• Lent is a 40 day period preparation of repentance and for Easter
• Lend represents the 40 days Jesus spent in the dessert
• Easter leads up to the ascension
• Easter is the climax of the year
• Year finishes with pentecost which commemorates the Holy Spirit being given to the disciples
• Easter is a joyful celebration of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead
