PRELIM BIOCHEMISTRY

• Biochemistry - the study of chemical processes in living organisms, especially in cells and tissues. sometimes called biological chemistry

• Miller-Urey Experiment - Experiments recreating the atmosphere of primitive earth, with the energy sources and temperatures
• 1810s-1830s - a major substance form animals and plants was identified, composed of C, H, O, and N.
• "Protein" - meaning the most important thing, was fisrt used in 1838
