• R.H. grip rule -> cause (thumb): direction of current

  -> effect (fingers): turn around in the direction of the mag. field

• R.H. slap rule -> cause(thumb): movement of charge

  -> direction of mag. field: fingers

  -> effect (palm): the direction of the force applied to positive change (reverse slap direction for negative charge)
