  • ecological validity - emphasises the importance of the individual
  • Practical uses - self efficiency is used in therapies

  Cons:

  • unfalsifiable - can't scientifically test free will
  • subjective
• Determinism:

  Pros:

  • Scientific - allows for cause & effect relationships to be established

  Cons:

  • Reductionist - behaviour is only looked biological etc aspects
  • Doesn't account for individual differences - making laws underestimates uniqueness
