    caused by deep atlantic low-pressure system (an intense depression) and the position of the jet stream which blocked high pressure anti-cyclones (so it couldn't move off)
    the situation worsened by the already saturated ground (antiseedic conditions)it was the 2nd wettest nov since 1910
