Distributions

    Cards (8)

    • Frequency distributions
How the data is distributed or spread out, often displayed using a graph like a histogram
    • Histogram
Used when data is continuous, with bars touching and having equal width, and a continuous variable on each axis
    • Normal distribution
A symmetrical spread of frequency data where the mean, median and mode are the same or almost the same and are located at the highest part
    • Positive skew

The skew (where the data is most spread out) is located on the right, with the mode at the highest point, the median next, and the mean highest
    • Negative skew

The skew (where the data is most spread out) is located on the left, with the mode at the highest point, the median next, and the mean lowest
