Induced fit model

• 1 - the substrate combines with the active site of the enzyme (each active site is specific to a single substrate (enzyme specificity)
• 2 - the active site changes slightly to make an exact fit (induced fit)
• 3 - the enzyme and substrate form an enzyme-substrate complex
• 4 - the enzyme changes the substrate into a product
• 5 - the product leaves the active site
• 6 - the enzyme is unchanged and is ready to begin the process again
