Stimuli- something that provokes a specific function or reaction

Thorndike(1898)- law of effect- effect rewarding= more likely to be repeated.
Extinction- the CS applied repeatedly without being paired with the US being presented. If learnt behaviour occurs less often and eventually stops all together CS returns to NS
