• Turbidity is the measure of suspended solids in a solution. 
• Natural turbidity is caused by heavy rainfall, landslides disturbance of riverbed. 
• Problems associated with increased turbidity include:

  • Less photosynthesis - corals, plants 
  • Less vision in the water 
  • Coating of gills in sediment
