    Airways remain permanently damaged and widened due to persistent infection = accumulation of excess mucus and bacteria = infections and breathing problems
  • What are some symptoms of bronchiectais and how does it present?
    Wet cough 4+ weeks (not better with antibiotics)
    Green or yellow mucus
    May improve with antibiotics but will also quickly return
    Wheeze
    Lethargy
    Reduced eppetite
    More breathless than usual after exercise

    Physiotherapy
    Keeping active
    Healthy diet
    Good fluid intake
    No exposure to smoke
    Antibiotics
    Inhalers
