  • Travelling waves V = f x λ, f = 1/T, λ = V/f
    -> transverse perpendicular to direction of wave travel (electromagnetic), crests and troughs points of max displacement

    ->longitudinal parallel to direction of wave travel (mechanical & seismic), crests points of max density, troughs point of min density
