  Characterized by painless cervical dilatation without contraction, usually before 20th week of AOG.
• Incompetent Cervix

  S/SX:

  • first sign: bloody show
  • cervical dilatation
  • prolapse of membranes
  • absence of contractions
• Incompetent Cervix

  Management:

  • vaginal rest - no sex, orgasm, douche
  • Procedure: cervical cerclage

  Management of ruptured membranes in IC:

  • prepare for childbirth

  Cervical Cerclage - sewing

  • best between 12 to 18 weeks
